Last nite, I did a one-hour presentation to New Age Store owners for how to WEBCAST with me for presenting my Greening Man book and Green Wisdom Cards.  We picked a Green Wisdom Card for how to sustain and renew ourselves using nature as guide.  It was a lemur leaping with Neptune in the background.

It rained some in Massachusetts, I rained tears for my cat, and today back in LA it’s raining.  What’ up? I thought of what I’ve written about “green woman wisdom” in my Greening Man book. (I’ve been contacting my greening man mythic mentor).  Here it is….

“Hi Green Man! Hi, Hi”  (I write this and audibly call for him)

“I am getting a lot more about living green from you than I thought, and you are going way beyond the present day fashion of doing green things for the environment.  How do you know all this?  Where do you come from?”

Questioning Man,

The green way is a complete and whole way of living.  It means following the wisdom of my mother – Mother Nature.  I was born from Gaia, a mythic name for Earth. Out of Mother Nature’s own re-creative wholeness, she bore me, a man to go with woman. As her birth and child, I am the vegetation that grows from her belly.  I am the fruit of her labor. I am the sprout of her inspiration. I am her seed come to life.

The original Green Man was a woman, so we can call our earth mother, Green Woman.  I bet that your modern science will show that all men have genetically evolved from the female.

Our Earth Mother has survived and succeeded for as long as we can remember, and beyond.  Simply ask her for wisdom and guidance.  Mother Nature knows how.  As my earth mama always told me, think green and do green things in all of life.  That’s where I get my answers.

In a way, all mothers are like Gaia.  They birth you, they know you, and they will always live to help you, nurture you, and grow you. They are your forever-supporters and wisdom keepers.

Is your mother still alive?

No.

Then go ahead in your imagination and contact her because you are connected by an invisible chord to the mother-child energy field that will always exist.  Ask her about your crisis of energy.

OK.

And what did she say?

She said nothing but she was smiling at me?

She loves you and is happy that you have contacted her.

I’m crying.

Good, Raining Man. In our natural world, we call crying, rain.  Rain is the pouring out of Mother Earth’s tears of love for us.  Raining the love waters upon us, we and our plants come alive.  This is the central message of our Mother –  to love and embrace all of life.  That is the green way of sustaining life, to love and be loved.  Like rain, it is love that keeps life green and going.  To green yourself, come to love, fall in love with yourself, with all your foibles, with all others, with the creatures, with the plants, with the rocks, with the elements, with the setbacks, with the successes, with the uncertainties and mysteries, with all that is.  Only by loving all life and all of its situations and conditions will you and I and everyone survive and sustain.

I feel my heart softening and opening and extending.

Now, you are greening.

After the beautiful wedding and coaching day, I got news that night that my beloved cat, Lila, was dying of kidney failure.  After ecstasy came devastation. I had to consent to putting her to sleep.  Life on the wheel of fortune spins up and down and all around. Whenever one of my pets passes on, I consciously take on and seek to embody their quality (we are all one).  Lila was such a small, fragile Himalayan, yet a wonderful, giving, caring mother to several litters.  To me she was a compassionate, serving kuan yin kitty. In honor of her great spirit, I went for a walk and ended up in a cemetery here in Andover, Mass. Amidst my tears, I spotted a tree unlike any other there and it struck me as Lila’s tree, a delicate flowering of Lila’s spirit that lives forever within me. I am so sad and yet so appreciative. What a teacher.
